FRONT AND CENTER - The Fashion Week Follies

Speaking of chic movies, writer-director-producer Ned Ambler just wrapped his third feature, Knackered. Ambler describes the film as "a kind of modern Laurel and Hardy, physical comedy with a love story, about a fallen U.K. rock star and his bitchy transsexual girlfriend. They are out to get revenge - against gossip columnists and paparazzi and other people they feel did them wrong." Knackered stars Jonny Cragg (of the band Spacehog) as the nutball musician with a penchant for lighting his hair on fire. Danna Bradley plays his outrageous girlfriend. Some scenes, shot during fashion week, boast cameos by nightlife fixtures like Amanda Lepore, Sophia Lamar, Theo Kogan, and Princess Superstar. Says Ambler, "We used a lot of bright pastel filters, so it looks like something from the Playboy Channel. It has a 970-BYRD quality to it. It's really sick and really hot."
